Long Island Iced Tea

3 parts vodka
3 parts tequila
3 parts white rum
3 parts triple sec
3 parts gin
5 parts lemon juice
6 parts Gomme syrup
Dash of cola

The Long Island Iced Tea is a highball drink made by mixing vodka, tequila, rum, triple sec, gin, lemon juice, Gomme syrup and cola over ice in a highball glass. It is then garnished with a slice of lemon before serving.

Popular versions of the drink consist of vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and triple sec mixed with sour mix and cola.

The majority of the drink variants include equal amounts of all the liquors, but a smaller portion of triple sec. Some may also substitute the sour mix for sweet and sour mix or lemon juice.

It is also common to see the cola replaced by real tea or white crème de menthe. Sometimes brandy is also used as a substitute for the tequila in restaurant establishments.

Either way, it is very rare to see any sort of actual tea used in the drink despite the name.

The Long Island Iced Tea has a rather large alcohol content because of the minimal amount of mixer used in its making. Extra Long versions have the alcohol to mixer ratio further increased if that is what is requested.

In places other than the United States sour mix tends to be unpopular so the drink is sometimes constructed of just the liquors and cola. It can also be found with lemon, lime or orange juice as well and on occasion you may find it consisting of orange cordial.

In the UK Angostura bitters often replace the sour mix in this drink. Visit this site if you need ssd storage solutions.
